When you enter a Tibetan Buddhist temple, you'll often see a large image of the Wheel of Life in the vestibule.
This powerful painting acts as a mirror, reflecting the habitual and limited patterns of mind
that bind us to suffering, both our own and that of others.
In contrast, when we step into the main shrine room it is filled with beautiful images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
These figures represent the myriad qualities of awakening and the profound potential inherent in the human mind.
The spiritual path requires us to understand both aspects:
What limits us and what helps us grow to fulfill our deepest potential.
Our course will offer a guided exploration of this compelling image.
We will learn to understand its symbolism and how it maps the journey from limitation to freedom
The course is suitable for anyone who has learnt our two meditations - The Mindfulness of Breathing and The Mettabhavana.
Course Themes Include:
The Hub of the Wheel: The core forces that drive our reactive mind
Actions and Consequences: Recognising helpful and unhelpful behaviours
Creating Our World:How the mind constructs realities that express and reinforce our mental states
The Conditioned Links:The process that keeps the wheel spinning or leads us to freedom
The Spiral Path: An introduction to the creative path of awakening
Booking
There is no charge for the course, though donations will be welcome
