The Triratna Buddhist Community
Our community is part of the Triratna Buddhist Community, a worldwide network of people
following the Buddha’s teachings in the conditions of the modern world.
Founded in London in 1967 Triratna’s unique approach has enabled a living Buddhism to flourish in
diverse cultures across the world.
At the heart of this community, and behind its outgoing activities, is the Triratna Buddhist Order.
Neither monastic nor lay, its members are committed
to placing the ideals and practices of Buddhism at the heart of their lives.

Meditation
At these classes you'll learn two foundational Buddhist meditation practices:
the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (development of loving-kindness).
The Mindfulness of Breathing helps us to develop awareness, integration and an understanding of the way
the mind works.
The Metta Bhavana helps us to cultivate positive emotion, compassion and an ‘opening of the heart’.
Although these are ancient Buddhist Practices you don't have to be a Buddhist to benefit from them.
Together they form the initial stages of an exploration of meaning, purpose and
well-being within a busy modern life.
If you would like to get started at home go to our Links page where you will find links to
both meditations taught online.
